He looks at me, gazes at me.
With love, compassion and desire;
Desire to keep me safe and happy.
I have never seen him,
And yet I have.
I look at his picture,
And I never want to take my eyes away.
I am glad and almost thankful to quarantine,
For bringing him back to my sight.
For I can now gaze at his twinkling self
Assuring me that he will be here to save me from any cleft.
I used to look at him as my fairy godfather,
Little did I know they did not exist.
But one thing that does,
It eternal love, for me, for him.
I have never seen him, met him;
And yet I know he is my favourite soul in the universe.
For tears prick my eyes when one talks of him,
For he hasn’t passed away.
No, he hasn’t died
He has travelled;
To a better place,
From where he tells me he is standing right by me.
I have never felt his protective embrace,
I have never seen his proud smile or a sign of anger on his face,
And yet I talk to him,
For he resides in my heart.
I have never seen him scold the other old man that I have,
All I have seen is his humbled, statued smile,
And him viewing the world from that sky,
Because he resides in my heart forever.
Happy Birthday Dada!
